Four Ways to Help Your Aging Skin

Does your skin feel dull? Loose? Have you noticed more fine lines and wrinkles?

The aging process is natural and varies from person to person. However, there are things you can do to help.

Welcome back to the TATR blog! Below are the answers you are looking for to help aging skin.

Hydration is Key

The first and most important step to hydrating your skin begins with hydrating your body. It is recommended for you to drink at least 8 glasses of water every day. You can also increase your water intake by eating foods with high water content. Fruit and vegetables are not only hydrating but are beneficial for your skin in various other ways. Citrus fruits, like oranges and lemons are rich in Vitamin C; vital in maintaining your skins texture.

Up your SPF

You should be using a daily SPF with a minimum of factor 30, regardless of whether it is sunny or not to prevent UVA and UVB skin damage. Sun exposure can severely dehydrate your skin, resulting in a loss of moisture and the breakdown of collagen and elastin in the skin, which are responsible for its strength and elasticity. Over exposure to the sun can result in signs of premature aging, including undesirable pigmentation. Wearing a suitable SPF is paramount to reduce the signs of aging.

Moisturise

You should choose a moisturiser based on your specific skin type. Hydrating serums, creams and lotions can help you improve your skin’s texture. Here at the Aesthetic Treatment Rooms, we use and stock various products from the PCA range. Uniquely formulated products for the health of your skin.  Using hand selected ingredients that are exclusively compatible with the skin and body to ensure the best results are achieved. We advise an assessment of your skin prior to choosing a moisturiser for optimal results.

Unfortunately, you can’t stop the hands of time entirely. However, you can take steps to minimize their negative impact on your skin. Lifestyle changes such as staying hydrated, using moisturiser, and protecting your skin from the sun can prevent further damage.
