Dermal Fillers, What Are They?

Dermal fillers are small injections of gel, typically made up of Hyaluronic Acid, that help to plump out wrinkles and replace lost volume to soft tissue in the face. When administered correctly by a medical professional, dermal fillers can subtly smooth, soften and contour the skin, restoring your youthful glow, enhancing and defining your natural features.

Here at the Aesthetic Treatment Rooms we use Teosyal RHA; a premium brand dermal filler.

Where can I have dermal fillers?

You can have dermal fillers in various different parts of your face. Lips and cheeks are the populat treatment options here at The Aesthetic Treatment Rooms, Benton.

Here at the Aesthetic Treatment Rooms, Newcastle upon Tyne, we can tailor the filler and technique to your desired outcome to restore your well proportioned and voluminous lips and replenish what was lost.

We can also offer dermal fillers for cheeks to restore your youthful proportions, to add support to sagging jowls,in addition to creating a more sculpted and defined appearance.

How long do they last?

It is dependent on many different factors including the viscosity of the Hyaluronic Acid filler used and how your body reacts, but most dermal fillers will last between 6 and 18 months.

Do they hurt?

There can be a some discomfort during the procedure. Although the needles used during these procedures are very thin, you may feel a pinching sensation when the clinician inserts it into your lips. This will be followed by a little pressure as your clinician injects the filler. You may feel a stinging sensation; this is completely normal. Your clinician may massage this area if necessary, which can help ease the pain.

You may request a numbing cream for this procedure or a dental block local anaesthetic our clinicians’ would be more than happy to take extra steps to make you feel more at ease.

Swelling and bruising after the procedure is natural. If you notice bruising a couple of days after treatment – do not worry! Bruising may last 5-7 days.

If you have any concerns please do not hesitate to give us a call on 0191 466 1427. You can request a review appointment with your clinician.
