Are There Treatments for Hair Loss?
“Are there treatments for hair loss?” is something we often get asked at The Aesthetic Treatment Rooms, Benton. Is losing hair something that has been concerning you? We may have something to help!! In this blog we discuss hair loss and the treatments that are available to help.
What can cause hair loss?
It is important for us to consider what can cause hair loss. This can be different in Men and Women.
They can include:
Hormonal changes - hormonal imbalances that can be caused by pregnancy or menopause could lead to hair loss
Medical conditions such as scalp infections, hair-pulling disorder, and autoimmune disorders such as Lupus
Medications such as cancer drugs
Radiation therapy around the head can affect the hair follicles
Stressful experiences such as sudden weight loss, surgery, illness, bereavement
Certain hairstyles that pull hair too tightly can cause tension alopecia
Genetics - family history of hair loss
Malnutrition
If you are undergoing any medical treatment, have autoimmune conditions or you have a compulsive disorder it may not be possible for you to have any treatment at all, if it may interfere with your current medical situation.
What Can I Do To Help With Hair Loss?
There are some things you may be able to do to help yourself, dependant on the cause of your hair loss. If your hairstyle is too tight then perhaps consider a looser style. Your diet may need an overhaul to help you intake those important nutrients. Alternatively your Doctor may be able to advise on diet supplements.
At The Aesthetic Treatment Rooms, Benton, we have a great treatment that our patients have reported excellent results with. They have reported thicker, stronger hair and have noticed far less hair loss.
What Is This Treatment and How Does It Work?
This treatment for hair loss is with our WOW! Fusion® Device with bespoke mesotherapy. The WOW fusion® device is a small glass vial with a needle head that contains 20 titanium 24K gold plated needles each being 0.13mm in diameter. The needles also have a small spiral groove on the outside that allows product to flow down, straight into the skin’s epidermal/dermal junction.
For Hair Mesotherapy we use the 1mm device with a specially crafted serum. Every 12 weeks we can also use botulinum toxin in this cocktail. The pyridoxine (B6) and the nicotinide (B3) link with panthoneic acid (B5) to inhibit the action of 5-alpha reductase and this has a decreasing effect on local dihydrotestosterone that causes muscle tightening and atrophy of the hair follicle. The botulinum toxin also reduces muscle tightening too. Meaning you get that instant boost whilst the mesotherapy serum starts to work! In addition the B vitamins add condition to the individual hairs.
In our clinic, Newcastle upon Tyne, we recommend an initial consultation to discuss your options. You can book this here. Alternatively please contact us if you have any further queries.
